August Pickin’ on the Square

Join us Saturday, August 14th from 5:00pm – 8:00pm for our 7th Annual Pickin’ on the Square Series!

The 2021 Pickin’ on the Square series is presented by Pinnacle Financial Partners.

For this Pickin’ on the Square, we’re excited to have the bluegrass band Ages Past join us to facilitate the jam session and kick off the event with some of their music.

Ages Past, a bluegrass band best known for their powerful sound, original songwriting, and “traditional with a twist” style, has reunited after 25 years to bring you all-new music. Original band member Randy Gallion has joined forces with veteran musicians Jaime Carter, Chad Day, and Savannah Reed to form the new group. Ages Past band member have a lot of experience performing with prominent bluegrass musicians over the years. Chad hails from the home of Earl Scruggs and has played with local musicians since he was 14. Savannah was part of South Fork, the Leonard McSwain Band, and the Tyler Williams Band. Jaime has a degree in Bluegrass, Old-Time, and Country Music Studies from East Tennessee State University and has toured professionally around the world.

Pickers, come jam informally around the square! All playing levels welcome. Secure instrument check is available.

Not a picker? Come and bring your family and friends and sit back and enjoy as we celebrate the tradition of bluegrass music.

The Earl Scruggs Center Gift Shop will be open during the event for guests to purchase refreshments and souvenirs. In case of inclement weather, Pickin’ on the Square will be moved inside the Earl Scruggs Center to the Great Hall.
