Historical Crossroads: A look at the Story of Major Henry F. Schenck and Blowing Rock, NC
This Coffee With the Curator will take an in-depth look at the story of Major Henry F. Schenck and his settling in Blowing Rock by examining the way in which two parallel histories met a crossroads in the summer of 1886. Follow along as Curator Zach Dressel shares some early Cleveland County history and illustrates the ways in which one of the most important early textile empires to come out of Shelby, North Carolina came to power alongside one of the most important Mountain Resorts in the South. The presentation will be followed by a Q&A with the new Curator of the Earl Scruggs Center, Zach Dressel.
