Center Stage Concert Series Presents: The Burnett Sisters Band

July 9 | 6 PM | Tickets $35
Bluegrass, old-time, and folk music lovers won’t want to miss The Burnett Sisters Band—siblings Anissa, Sophia, and Anneli from Boone, NC, joined by Geary Allen from Minster, England. This 2025 IBMA Momentum Band of the Year Nominee is celebrated for their virtuosic multi-instrumentalism, tight harmonies, and their ability to infuse every performance with energy, authenticity, and heartfelt expression.
Over the years, each member has excelled on the traditional music competition circuit. Anissa won the blue ribbon for Old-Time Fiddle at the 2024 Old Fiddlers Convention, Anneli earned first place in Folk Song, and the band recently took top honors at the MerleFest Band Competition. Beyond performing, they nurture the next generation of musicians as instructors for the Watauga Junior Appalachian Musicians program and through teaching roles at East Tennessee State University.
Their repertoire is as diverse as it is compelling: a driving bluegrass standard might be followed by an old-time fiddle tune, a classic Hank Williams number, a soaring gospel melody, or a Geary Allen original, all topped off with flatfoot dancing from Anneli. With charting singles like “Sorrow, Grief and Pain” and “The Song of the Mountains” on Pinecastle Records, the Burnett Sisters Band continues to grow their fan base and headline major festivals across the globe, including tours in the U.S., Ireland, England, and Canada.
Experience why The Bluegrass Standard calls them “an enthralling group presenting a unique blend of traditionally rooted music, influenced by bluegrass and classic country greats alike.” Don’t miss this unforgettable evening of skill, passion, and tradition.
