March 25 @ 10:30 am - 11:30 am

For Coffee with the Curator in March get ready to step back over 250 years into Cleveland County’s past with the first look at the groundbreaking Poston Family Collection, donated to Gardner Webb University in 2025.  The Poston Family Collection covers the unique history of one of Cleveland County’s most prominent families including the personal papers of Samuel Poston (1765-1818) and his descendants, a massive archive that Gardner Webb University’s Dean of the Dover Library Dr. Natalie Bishop and her team are still working to process. For attendees, Dr. Bishop and Earl Scruggs Center Assistant Director and Curator Zach Dressel will share highlights from this marvelous collection, specifically showcasing documents from the collection that will be featured in the upcoming Earl Scruggs Center exhibit Voices of the Frontier: Cleveland County on the Eve of Independence.   This program will take place at the Earl Scruggs Center at 10:30am on March 25, 2026.  Please be sure to register in advance.
