Free Program
Interested in seeing preservation in progress? For June’s Coffee with the Curator, join Earl Scruggs Center Assistant Director and Curator Zach Dressel for a tour of Fulenwider-Ebeltoft House. Built just before the Civil War, the Fulenwider-Ebeltoft House is one of the oldest homes still standing in Shelby. In the fall of 2025, the home was purchased by the Historic Shelby Foundation as a new headquarters and commercial space and is currently undergoing restoration. Dressel will cap off a brief tour of the beautiful antebellum home by sharing artifacts from the Cleveland County Historical Collection that relate to some of the past owners. Those participating in the program will meet at 323 S. Washington St., there is a paved parking lot behind the home. Be sure to register in advance as space is limited.
