MAURICE WILLIAMS AND THE ZODIACS

Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs is a doo-wop/rhythm & blues group from Lancaster, S.C. They are widely known for their hit record "Stay". Their other records include "At the Beach", "Let This Night Last" and "Back to Basics", although no other record was quite as successful as "Stay", which was listed as No. 1 pop song in 1960 and No. 3 in R&B. "Stay" gave Maurice Williams and the Zodiacs their popularity not only in America but also in U.K., hitting No. 6 on the U.K. charts in 1961.
Besides Williams, the group is comprised of Wiley Bennett, Henry Gaston, Charles Thomas, Albert Hill and Little Willie Morrow. Bands such as The Hollies, The Four Seasons and Jackson Brown covered "Stay" and helped keep it high on the music charts for years.
Maurice Williams continued recording, touring, and releasing music through the 1970s, 1980s, and 1990s. Maurice still tours, performing over 150 show-dates per year and is still very active in the music industry.
