SARA JANE BURROUGHS

At the time of the interview, Sarajane Burroughs was completing her senior year at Gardner-Webb University in Boiling Springs. Her studies and her work at the Broad River Coffee Company in Shelby had introduced her to Cleveland County citizens and their traditions and values. Sarajane, originally from Gainesville, FL and Asheville, NC, explains how her negative stereotypes about life in a small town were replaced with respect for the way of life she experienced in Cleveland County.
