Coffee with the Curator

Join the Earl Scruggs Center as we celebrate Cleveland County’s rich heritage in the great outdoors!  This month’s Coffee with the Curator will feature the amazing stories told from the graves of Shelby’s most interesting citizens of years past.  This fun and informative tour through Shelby’s historic Sunset Cemetery will be lead by local expert Joe DePriest, Author of “Voices In Time: Stories of The Banker’s House.”  DePriest has spent years researching the residents of the Cemetery and is currently working on a new book which will feature some of their stories and their impacts on Cleveland County’s amazing history.  

Tours will be occurring on June 16th and 18th at 10am with a Q&A session following.  We will begin this walking tour at Sunset Cemetery, not the Earl Scruggs Center.  Pre-registration is required and will be online.  Each tour is limited to 15 people so sign-up quick!
