Curious about having over a century of Shelby Star newspapers at your fingertips? For September’s Coffee with the Curator, join Earl Scruggs Center Assistant Director Zach Dressel and Gardner Webb University Dean of the Library and University Archivist Natalie Bishop for a discussion about a new digitization project that will see decades of Shelby Star issues transformed from Microfilm to searchable online documents opening up new possibilities of research for local historians and genealogists. Dressel and Bishop will walk attendees through the entire process of digitizing microfilm and detail future collaborative efforts between local nonprofits with the goal of making Cleveland County history more accessible. This Coffee with the Curator will take place at the Dover Library on Gardner Webb University’s campus.
