Back in the 1930s, RCA Victor and Decca “field recording teams” visited Charlotte frequently, cutting important records with Bill Monroe, the legendary Carter Family, Grand Ol’ Opry banjo star Uncle Dave Macon and many more. The Kollard Kings dip into that songbag to make history come alive.

In honor of the exhibition “Feast Here Tonight,” they’ll feature a plateful of food songs. And tell the story of how Bill Monroe came to record “Feast Here Tonight” in 1936 in Charlotte.
